Priyanka’s Photo on Assam Tourism Calendar Sparks, Congress leaders demands its removal –
Priyanka Chopra Controversy: The International star Priyanka Chopra has become a part of another controversy for wearing an inappropriate outfit in the Assam Tourism Calendar.
Priyanka has come under a controversy earlier by saying, Sikkim a state “troubled by insurgency” in the North-Eastern region and now this controversy emerged.
According to some sources, some of the Congress members – Rupjyoti Kurmi (MLA of Mariani), Roseline Tirkey (MLA of Sarupathar) and Nandita Das (MLA of Boko) have jointly demanded the Assam Tourism that Priyanka Chopra should be removed from the role of Assam Tourism Brand Ambassador.
They also slammed Priyanka Chopra and Assam Tourism by saying that the actress has appeared in several photographs wearing very minimal and inappropriate clothes, which brings a bad impression to the culture of Assam. According to some reports, the Congress leaders had also returned the New Year Calendar.
However, The Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), does not find any wrong with the calendar.
According to Jayanta Malla Baruah, who is the Chairman of The Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) had told to G Plus, which is a Guwahati-based weekly that, “The Calendar was made to promote Assam Tourism Globally and it has also been sent to some prominent International tour operators and dignitaries”.
He also said that “Priyanka Chopra is an International Star and her appearance on the calendar has not diminished Assam’s culture in any way.”
